The technical assistance partly financed the first phase of the preparatory work for the construction of 3 wind power projects in Luzon. The TA will produce the site-specific feasibility studies including wind assessment for each of the 3 proposed wind power plants. The studies would determine the commercial viability of the 3 wind projects for further development by APHC.
ADB recognizes that energy plays a vital role in economic growth and poverty reduction and is taking a prominent role to help countries like the Philippines achieve energy security while mitigating the growing greenhouse gas emissions from the use of energy. As such, ADB is integrating climate change into planning and investment, to ensure continued economic growth in a sustainable manner. This proposed TA is in line with ADB's initiatives.
