Project detail:
Purpose/Need: To help India accelerate the transition from a hydrocarbon-based economy toward a green hydrogen economy through novel technologies, suitable applications, and development roadmaps. Activity: Technical assistance supporting preparation of pilot green hydrogen projects, policy frameworks, business strategies, technical/financial arrangements, and capacity development. Green hydrogen is described as hydrogen produced through water electrolysis powered by renewable sources. Capacity: No specific production capacity is stated; the project is a technical assistance program rather than a defined production facility. Importance: Supports decarbonization and climate objectives and aims to facilitate green hydrogen use across energy-intensive sectors, transport, industry, power generation, and renewable energy storage.
