| Project Detail : | Horiba India opened a facility in Nagpur on 06 July, 2024 to manufacture medical equipment and consumables. Set up with an investment of Rs 200 crore, the plant will provide critical equipment to 30,000 diagnostic labs in India, and is slated to be the largest medical equipment and haematology reagent manufacturing unit in the country. The Maharashtra government is in talks with Japan-based Group for the setting up of a semiconductor unit in the state. For this, the government has identified land in the Butibori industrial estate in Nagpur, as informed by Deputy chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. The Group operates in automotive emission testing, medical diagnostics, semiconductors, and the scientific analytical equipment space. Horiba has two manufacturing units in Maharashtra, one in Pune as technical-cum-research centre, and another one in Nagpur for medical equipment and reagent manufacturing. Its third facility for medical reagent manufacturing is in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The government is keen to see more investments flow into the Butibori industrial estate, which is among the largest such industrial estate in Asia. |
