| Project Detail : | Hero Electric will expand its manufacturing base with a new plant in the south over the next two years. The company will also make an investment to the tune of Rs 500 crore over the two years towards the developments.
The company will expand its footprint in southern India with a modular plant with capacity to expand further. It is exploring the possibilities in the area, and new facility will probably come up around Tamil Nadu.
The investment will be made towards new facility and expansion of networks, R&D and development of new models.
The company had announced an investment to the tune of Rs 700 crore in February 2018 for new product development and assembly lines, of which a considerable amount has been already invested.
The company has a plant in Ludhiana, Punjab, which has a capacity of around one-lakh units a year for manufacturing electric two-wheelers.
It has over 600 dealer outlets across the country in 325 cities and intends to expand to 1,000 dealers by the end of 2020. |
