| Project Detail : | Hyundai Motor Company will make an investment to the tune of Rs 2,000 crore to develop electric car. The vehicle will be manufactured at its Chennai factory, Tamil Nadu.
It is planning to drive in a Rs 10 lakh electric car in the country. The car could be a mini SUV, though different body types such as a premium hatchback, are also being considered.
The company is also looking forward to set up an electric battery facility in India, on the lines of one developed by Suzuki and Toyota in Gujarat. The company is speaking to an array of potential partners including LG, Samsung SDI and SK Innovations, apart from Chinese companies for setting up the project. |
