| Project Detail : | Lohia Auto Industries, an emerging three-wheeler maker, is planning to deepen its focus on two-wheelers with a new range of electric and cruiser bikes The company has plans to create space in the growing market. The company will make an investment of Rs 150 crore over coming years in a new research and development (R&D) facility, vehicle architecture which will be in line with the BS VI emissions standards and a new manufacturing plant which is likely to be launched in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana The company has presence in making electric, diesel and CNG three-wheelers and is also into the two-wheeler business, mass market EVs and premium bikes, the last of which is in association with US-based UM Motorcycles In FY18, the company has sold around 10,000 units of the Renegade and Commando cruiser motorcycles. It now plans to enter the higher volumes with a 200-250cc bike shortly, apart from coming out with mid-size motorcycles in the 350-650cc range The company is also open to partnerships in localisation of EV components, including battery making |
