| Project Detail : | The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has recently decided to construct four additional lanes along the existing four-lane road between Sumanahalli Junction and Kottigepalya thereby doubling it up to eight-lane signal-free road corridor. This will make for easy traffic movement towards Tumkur Road, Nagarabhavi and Magadi along the Outer Ring Road. The BBMP identified the 860-metre stretch between Sumanahalli Junction and Kottigepalya where commuters currently have to wait at the signal before turning towards Tumkur Road, Nagarabhavi, Magadi Road and Rajaji Nagar. The existing four-lane road is 80 feet wide and the BBMP has acquired about 12,000 sq mtr of adjoining land. The construction work will add another 80 feet to the width of the road between the two junctions. With this, commuters travelling towards Tumkur Road from Kottigepalya can take the free left turn and commuters travelling towards Nagarabhavi can crisscross without having to wait at the signal |
