| Project Detail : | Shimla Smart City Project Ltd (SSCL) today got its first push after the Shimla Municipal Corporation sought proposal from 12 different firms for the appointment of consultants, who will design, develop, manage and implement the smart city projects in the city. They have been asked to submit their respective proposals by April 15 According to sources, 12 different firms today attended the pre-bid meeting which was chaired by the Municipal Commissioner Rohit Jamval, who is also the Managing Director-cum- Chief Executive of the SSPL, a special body constituted as per the guidelines of the National Smart City Mission under the Ministry of Urban development After chairing the meeting, Jamval said representatives from 12 different firms participated in the pre-bid meeting to clear their queries on different components of the smart city projects. “They will submit as consortium or otherwise their bids to be appointed as consultants for different projects in the city”, he added After the consultants are appointed, they will design, design, develop, manage and implement the smart city projects in the city within a time frame set up by the SSPL, Jamval said. The work on the projects will start once DPRs are finalised and approved, he added SSPL is yet to clear the barricade put up by the NGT order that has banned construction in the old city and green areas. The government is yet to get a stay on the NGT order, sources said SSPL has submitted Rs 2,900 crore proposal under the smart city to the Central Ministry after it was included in the National Smart City Mission |
