| Project Detail : | Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today said her government was aware of the difficulties being faced by people living in border and far-flung areas and efforts were apace to mitigate their sufferings She stated this after launching a Rs 22-crore ‘model village’ project at Machil village in Kupwara The CM said she would like the area to be augmented with all basic facilities under the ‘model village’ project, rather than adding up a mass of concrete and mortar. She emphasised on involvement of locals in the works to be taken up Addressing locals’ demands, the CM said she would ask the departments concerned to examine power projects. “We want to develop Machil a tourist hub. It will generate jobs for the local youth,” she said Reviewing tourist footfall to the Bungus-Drangyari at Chowkibal, the CM said, “The Bungus valley is being developed as a Himalayan Biosphere Valley and around Rs 15 crore is being spent on developing tourism infrastructure in its catchment.” Terming Bungus as the future of Kashmir tourism, the CM said the government would hold a tourism festival in the Bungus valley in mid-summer |
